Steli 2.0 is a series of vertical sculptures in oxidized iron created by Paolo Grassi in 2018 as an evolution of the Steli cycle. Each piece features a pierced number sequence across tilted modules stacked in a subtly unstable rhythm. The work investigates the balance between verticality and fragility, between order and disruption.

 

The engraved numbers, methodically designed yet irregularly arranged, evoke a hidden code engaging with the surrounding natural landscape.

Some versions are installed in alpine settings, among stone walls and vegetation, generating a striking and contemplative contrast.

Steli 2.0 è una serie di sculture verticali in ferro ossidato realizzate da Paolo Grassi nel 2018 come evoluzione del ciclo Steli. Ogni elemento presenta una sequenza numerica traforata su moduli inclinati, che si innestano l’uno sull’altro creando un ritmo visivo instabile e poetico.

 

L’opera esplora l’equilibrio tra verticalità e fragilità, stabilità e discontinuità. I numeri, incisi con rigore ma distribuiti in modo irregolare, suggeriscono un codice misterioso in dialogo con lo spazio naturale circostante. Alcune versioni sono installate nella natura alpina, tra vegetazione e architetture in pietra, creando un contrasto forte e meditativo.
