Dado – Conceptual Bronze Sculpture

Dado is the 139th element of Paolo Grassi’s conceptual project From “0” to Infinity.

This small bronze sculpture, formally reminiscent of a dice, plays with the idea of randomness and control. The cut-out numbers that emerge on each face form a rhythm that is both unpredictable and intentional, evoking mathematical patterns and symbolic constructs.

The work condenses in a compact volume the artist’s ongoing dialogue between logic and poetry. Its readability depends on the point of view, revealing new compositions as it rotates in space. Dado is not an object of chance: it is a distillation of balance, tension, and serial intuition.

Each edition is cast in bronze, with patinas ranging from golden to green or dark brown, underlining the individuality of every piece.

La sua leggibilità varia con l’angolazione, rivelando composizioni sempre nuove nello spazio. Dado non è un oggetto del caso: è un distillato di equilibrio, tensione e intuizione seriale. Ogni esemplare è fuso in bronzo, con patinature che spaziano dal dorato al verde o al bruno scuro, a sottolinearne l’unicità.
