Pastel Sequence is a large triptych on canvas created by Paolo Grassi in 2010 for the conceptual project From "0" to Infinity. The work consists of three individual panels measuring 160 × 100 cm each. They can be displayed in close succession as a single pictorial surface, or with deliberate spacing between them, enhancing a sense of rhythmic openness and visual breath.

The entire composition is based on a unique numerical sequence, progressing from number 3843 (left panel) to 3898 (right panel). Each digit is carefully hand-painted, never printed, and immersed in one of seven pastel tones that define the chromatic field. The background is a deep matte black, acting as a space of resonance and contrast.

With a total size of 300 × 160 cm, Pastel Sequence has been exhibited in several shows.

Ideal for executive offices, cultural institutions, or refined residential interiors, this work combines conceptual strength and chromatic elegance. It turns numbers into space, landscape, and silent thought—where painting becomes structure, and color becomes language.

Pastel Sequence è un grande trittico su tela realizzato da Paolo Grassi nel 2010 per il progetto concettuale From "0" to Infinity. Composto da tre pannelli di 160 × 100 cm ciascuno, può essere installato come un’unica superficie pittorica oppure con spazi vuoti tra le tele, suggerendo un ritmo più arioso e dinamico.

L’intera composizione si basa su una sequenza numerica unica, che procede dal numero 3843 (pannello sinistro) al 3898 (pannello destro). Ogni cifra è tracciata a mano, mai stampata, e immersa in uno dei sette toni pastello che costruiscono il campo visivo. Lo sfondo è un nero opaco, profondo, che amplifica il contrasto e la lettura.

Con una dimensione complessiva di 300 × 160 cm, Pastel Sequence ha partecipato a diverse esposizioni. Ideale per uffici direzionali, spazi culturali o ambienti residenziali di prestigio, unisce rigore concettuale ed eleganza cromatica.
