Part of Paolo Grassi’s long-term conceptual project From “0” to Infinity, the sculpture 888 is a singular commissioned work that explores the potential of repetition and symmetry in numerical form. Created in 2012, this bronze artwork displays the number 888 in a stylized and robust geometric structure. Its visual impact lies in the harmonious interplay between curved continuity and weight. The triplication of the number 8—a symbol often linked to infinity, prosperity, and cosmic balance—here becomes both sculpture and sign, standing autonomously yet deeply embedded in the logic of the project.

This piece was commissioned for a private collection and conceived to work both as an independent object and as a numerical portal. Its patina and surface detail highlight the natural aging process of the metal, adding warmth and presence.

Realizzata nel 2012 in bronzo, l’opera presenta il numero 888 in una struttura geometrica stilizzata e solida. Il suo impatto visivo nasce dall’equilibrio tra la continuità delle curve e la forza della materia. L’ottuplice ripetuto per tre volte—spesso associato all’infinito, alla prosperità e all’armonia cosmica—diventa in questa scultura segno e struttura, autonomo ma coerente con la logica del progetto.

L’opera è stata commissionata per una collezione privata e pensata per funzionare sia come oggetto indipendente sia come portale numerico. La patina e i dettagli di superficie ne sottolineano l’invecchiamento naturale, donando carattere e presenza.
